FAQ
- I bought Every Chord Pro and it is locked again — how do I get it back?
- Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. Apple reattaches Pro to the Apple Account that bought it, at no extra charge. If it stays locked, check that you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used for the purchase — a family member's account or a second account is the usual cause.
- How do I turn the sound off?
- Settings, Behaviour section, Sound. Turned off, tapping a voicing or a scale degree stays silent and nothing else changes. If the app is silent when Sound is on, check the ring/silent switch on the side of your iPhone and the volume while the app is in the foreground.
- I play left-handed. Can the neck be flipped?
- Yes. Settings, Behaviour section, Handedness, choose Left. Every diagram and the full fretboard mirror immediately, and the setting is remembered.
- Why does the app give my chord two different names?
- Because it often genuinely has two. The same set of notes is a different chord depending on which note is heard as the root, so C-E-G-A is both C6 and Am7. Every Chord shows the most likely reading first, given the lowest note you played, and ranks the other honest names underneath rather than hiding them. Same reason a note appears as A flat in one chord and G sharp in another: the spelling follows the chord it belongs to.
- Why is a position I know missing from the list?
- Two settings decide how much is shown. Skill level, in Settings, controls how many voicings appear per tier — set it to All to see everything the app knows. And the closed and partial voicings further up the neck, plus the advanced substitutions, are part of Every Chord Pro. If a shape you play is still absent with both of those open, send it to me, with the chord name and the fret of each string, and I will look at it.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Every Chord Pro is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, ever, for any feature.
- Does my data go anywhere?
- No. Every Chord makes no network requests at all and collects nothing. The only thing stored is your own settings, on your own device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- How do I get in touch?
- Write to [email protected], or use Contact the developer at the bottom of the app's Settings. Telling me your iPhone model and iOS version helps.
