FAQ
- Why do my steps in Footfall differ from my Apple Watch?
- They shouldn't. Footfall reads the exact same deduplicated step count that Apple Health shows you — the same source your Watch, iPhone, and any other health app write into. If a number still looks off for the same day, pull down on Footfall's Today screen to refresh, and check that Footfall has full access to Steps in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Footfall.
- Why is my screen empty, showing no data?
- Footfall needs your permission to read Steps and Distance from Apple Health. Open Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Footfall and turn those categories on. If you tapped "Don't Allow" the first time you opened Footfall, this is the only way to fix it — the app cannot ask again on its own.
- How do I add the Lock Screen widget?
- Long-press your Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, tap the widget area below the clock, and look for Footfall in the widget list. Add it, then tap Done.
- I got a new iPhone — how do I get Footfall Plus back?
- Install Footfall from the App Store on the new phone, open Settings inside the app, and tap Restore Purchases. Apple reattaches Footfall Plus to your Apple ID at no extra charge.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Footfall Plus is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, ever, for any feature.
- Does my data go anywhere?
- No. Footfall makes no network requests at all. Everything stays on your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- A step count or permission looks wrong — what do I check first?
- Open the Health app itself and check the same day and metric there. Footfall mirrors Health exactly, so if Health also looks off, the discrepancy is in how a specific data source (a case, a watch, a manual entry) reports into Health, not in Footfall.
