Coran Phonétique, privacy

Coran Phonétique has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Only one feature sends anything off your iPhone: the Ask tab, which sends your question so it can be answered.

Your data

Your settings, bookmarks, notes and reading position stay on your iPhone, in the app's own storage, and deleting the app deletes all of it. To play a recitation, the app downloads the verse's audio file from everyayah.com, which sees your IP address like any website. Links to sunnah.com and tafsir.net open in your browser.

When you ask a question in the Ask tab, and only after you have agreed to it, its text, with the last exchanges of the same conversation so the answer can follow it, goes to my relay (a Cloudflare Worker), which sends it to Cloudflare Workers AI to find the verses and to Anthropic (Claude) to write the answer. The relay keeps neither the questions nor the answers: for 90 days it only records an anonymous device fingerprint (for the question limit), the token count, the cost and the duration. Anthropic may keep requests as its API policy allows. The app proves it is genuine with Apple's App Attest; no account and nothing else about you is sent. Your conversations (questions and answers) stay on your iPhone, encrypted in the app's own storage and left out of iCloud backups. Swipe one to delete it; turning questions off in Settings deletes them all. If you bought Questions Plus, each question also carries Apple's signed proof of that purchase, which the relay checks; it keeps only a fingerprint of the purchase number and how many questions were asked this month, never linked to the text of a question.

Purchases

Purchases go through Apple. I receive no payment details, only Apple's anonymous confirmation that the purchase exists on your Apple Account, which the relay checks.
