Ultreia, privacy

Virtual Pilgrimage by Ultreia collects nothing. No account, no sign up, no analytics, no advertising, and no server behind it.

Health

With your permission, the app reads one thing from Apple Health: the walking and running distance your iPhone or Apple Watch has already recorded, day by day. It uses it on the iPhone to place you on the path you chose. It never writes anything to Health, and Health data never leaves the iPhone: it is not sent to a server, not shared with anyone, not used for advertising. You can refuse or withdraw access at any time in Health > Sharing > Apps, and use the app by adding kilometres by hand.

The App Store privacy answer for the app is Data Not Collected.

What stays on the iPhone

The path you walk, your departure date, the kilometres you add by hand and the stamps already shown are saved in the app's settings on the iPhone. Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing to request, export or have erased on my side.

Photos and maps

Stage photos, facts and maps are inside the app, so it makes no network request to show them. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, credited in each stage sheet; maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).

Tracking

None. The app does not track you across apps or websites.

Changes

If any of this stops being true, this page changes before the app does.
