Stayline, privacy

Stayline collects nothing. No account, no sign up, no analytics, no advertising, and no server behind it.

Your trips

The countries and dates you enter, your limits and your settings are saved in one file inside the app, on your iPhone, protected by iOS data protection. The app sends none of it anywhere: there is no server and no third party SDK in the binary. Deleting the app, or Settings > Erase all data, deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing to request, export or have erased on my side.

The App Store privacy answer for the app is Data Not Collected.

Location

Location is used only when you tap Check in, and only while the app is open. iOS gives the app one position, which is turned into a country code by Apple's geocoding service, and the position is then dropped: Stayline keeps the country and the day, never the coordinates. There is no background tracking. You can use the app without ever allowing location, by choosing the country yourself.

Notifications, reports and purchases

Reminders and limit alerts are local notifications scheduled on the iPhone. A PDF or CSV report is made on the iPhone and goes only where you share it. Purchases go through the App Store, which tells the app whether Pro is unlocked and nothing about who you are.

Tracking

None. The app does not track you across apps or websites.
