Stayline, terms of use

Stayline counts days from the dates you enter. It helps you plan, it does not replace the authority that decides.

Who makes it

Stayline is made by Theo Martin, an independent developer in France. Contact: [email protected].

What the app does, and does not do

The app counts days per country from the trips and check-ins you record, and applies the rules it describes: the Schengen 90/180 rule, calendar-year and tax-year day counts, the US substantial presence test, and the limits you set yourself. The result is only as good as the dates you enter.

Stayline is not legal, immigration or tax advice. Rules have exceptions (bilateral agreements, visas, residence permits, tie-breaker tests), and the border authority or tax office makes the final call. Check with them or with an adviser before a decision that matters.

Free part and Stayline Pro

The Schengen counter, trips and check-ins are free. Stayline Pro adds tax residency and visa limits, reports and alerts, as a yearly subscription or a one-time purchase. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds go through the App Store under Apple's terms: a subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your Apple Account settings. A discount code, when offered, is redeemed in the App Store and follows the same terms.

Licence

Your use of the app is governed by Apple's standard licence agreement (EULA), completed by this page. Where the two differ, the EULA applies.

Your data

Your trips stay on your iPhone and are never sent to me. The details are on the privacy page.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. I fix reported errors as fast as I can, but I cannot guarantee that a count is free of error, and I am not liable for a decision, fine, refusal of entry or tax assessment based on it, within the limits allowed by law. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Changes and law

If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new date. French law applies, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

Questions go to [email protected]. Help with the app is on the support page.
