Trajan, terms of use
Trajan works out amounts from the trips you record and the published rates it shows. It helps you keep a log, it does not replace the authority that decides.
Who makes it
Trajan is made by Theo Martin, an independent developer in France. Contact: [email protected].
What the app does, and does not do
The app records the trips you start, lets you add others by hand or import them from a CSV file, sorts them as business or personal, and estimates an amount from the rates it shows with their dates: the IRS standard mileage rates, the HMRC approved mileage rates and the French barème kilométrique. It also makes PDF and CSV reports of what you recorded. A distance measured by GPS is approximate and you can correct it, and an amount is an estimate at the rates shown, only as good as the trips behind it.
Trajan is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Whether a trip can be claimed, at which rate and with which evidence is for you, your adviser and your tax authority to decide, and the authority has the last word. Check with them before a decision that matters.
Free part and Trajan Pro
Recording trips, adding the current month's trips, sorting, editing, reading every month, backup and restore, rates and settings are free, and they stay free when a subscription ends. Trajan Pro adds PDF and CSV reports, trips added to past months and CSV import, as a yearly subscription or a one-time purchase. There is no free trial. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds go through the App Store under Apple's terms: a subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your Apple Account settings. Reports you have already exported stay yours.
Licence
Your use of the app is governed by Apple's standard licence agreement (EULA), completed by this page. Where the two differ, the EULA applies.
Your data
Your trips stay on your iPhone and are never sent to me. The details are on the privacy page.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. I fix reported errors as fast as I can, but I cannot guarantee that a distance or an amount is free of error, and I am not liable for a decision, a tax assessment, a penalty or a refused claim based on one, within the limits allowed by law. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Changes and law
If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new date. French law applies, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
